PERFECT!

That did it. Awesome how great your software and support is. I will SWEAR by it and use it for all mobile and HTML5 programming.

Mike Felker (In thread: How to sign our APK files to be published in the Google Play Store)

David,

So I am having a bit of a problem. I successfully compiled, built, signed, aligned and uploaded my apk to the android developer console.

It's even on the Play Store (Yay!). However, the client wanted a major change, so I changed it. Now when I try to upload the new version of the same app, I get the following error every single time:

I am not sure where to change this? I have read online this may have to do with AndroidManifest.xml, but I am not sure. I have read it needs to be incremented by some number, 1 or more.

How do we do this and can it be made more obvious within App Builder?

Here is a link to an answer I found online (but am not sure how to implement it in my situation using App Builder):

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24772407/upload-failed-you-need-to-use-a-different-version-code-for-your-apk-because-you

Thanks David.

Mike Felker (In thread: How do I build a non-debug version of the apk?)

Ignore this. I downloaded your newest version which has the uber convenient signing tool and all is good now.

I just had to find the zipalign tool (in the Android build-tools folder) and follow your directions in another thread. That did it.

Now the app is uploaded to the Play store and will be there eventually.

Thank you for such a really good piece of software with excellent support.

I do have the license key for this app, by the way. Where do I put it in App Builder?

Mike Felker (In thread: How do I build a non-debug version of the apk?)

I have finished my app and now I want to build the signed ready-to-go copy. No matter what I do, it is unsigned and a debug version.

I am filling out all the stuff on the Android Developer Portal. How to I get the signed build going?

Thanks for your help. I HAVE to get this done today.

Mike Felker (In thread: What is the best way to create a image button in App Builder?)

I was using normal buttons to go to other scenes in the app, but the client wants the buttons to have images on them, so how do I create a image button?

Mike Felker (In thread: Could you walk me through this new android deployment option?)

I have finished the app and now need to deploy to android. My client is getting a Android developer's license so we can put it on the Play store. However, I remember reading recently that you created a new deployment option for Android.

Could you please let us know how that works?

Thanks.

Mike Felker (In thread: I have a request - duplicate view and copy and paste idiosyncracies)

Two things:

1 - Please add a duplicate view command where the views (pages) are. You can add but not duplicate - and when I say duplicate, I mean all items and code go with it - everything is duplicated. For naming conventions, add a letter or number or something to each item.

2 - That leads me to my second request: when copying items, especially large numbers of items from view to view, please do not zero out the control names. I cannot tell you how long it is taking me to complete this app because every time I copy and paste a view's contents, all controls are autonamed something. Then I have to spend a zillion hours renaming everything. In the future, can you keep the control names when copied or duplicated and append a _0 or a _z or something to it?

Thanks.

Mike Felker (In thread: Problem with testing app)

Usually diagnosing the browser and internet connection solves the problem after a reboot.

Mike Felker (In thread: Which Android .bat file do I choose to run?)

Ummmm. Thought. The one thing that looks PERFECT is the app icon. I used the company logo of my client (which is round) and it looks gorgeous. That was set in the app settings.

I wonder if it would be possible to use that same kind of interface to get small icons saved onto Android devices and retain their size?

I am sure it's not possible, but it vexes me that the icon can look so good and the rest cannot and they are all the same size.

Mike Felker (In thread: Which Android .bat file do I choose to run?)

Check this out. I uploaded several of the 16x16 graphics to my web server. I went to the chrome browser on my phone and downloaded/shared a few of them. I brought them into the messaging app and they ALL looked totally crappy.

It's not the plugin or app builder. It's Android. I guess there is NOTHING I can do about this.

I have NO idea how to break this to my client. I am totally upset over this. I had no idea Android was this bad with small images.

Mike

Mike Felker (In thread: Which Android .bat file do I choose to run?)

You are correct. The question is, will my client accept it? It looks terrible when in the texting application the image looks horrible.

The best thing would be a way to copy and paste the image itself - I just do not know any way to do this. I'll keep searching.

Mike Felker (In thread: Which Android .bat file do I choose to run?)

Yeah, it's a big problem. I created a 32pixel by 32pixel blue square in photoshop. I called it blue.png

I added blue.png to the project and altered the above code to share blue.png

It shares fine, but comes in HUGE - like 256pixels by 256pixels.

I don't believe I did anything wrong, I just think its either a bug in the plugin or the messenger app (texting) on android is resizing it for some weird reason.

In any case, if i cannot send at size this solution won't work. I have searched and searched for anyone with a similar problem, but have found none. I texted my wife and the image she received was equally as large.

I wonder if there is a similar plugin but where sizes are taken into account?

Mike Felker (In thread: Which Android .bat file do I choose to run?)

Your example app, when installed on my phone and run, is doing the same thing - the example graphic is being shared at like 256x256 or larger regardless of the actual size of the graphic being shared.

Mike

Mike Felker (In thread: Which Android .bat file do I choose to run?)

I added a image control, added the image to be shared, resized it to 32x32 and then put the code above into it and no difference - the shared graphic was big and blurry. I just don't get it.

I'm going to see what else you did in your example app and apk that maybe I missed.
