Peter Groll (In thread: Problems with new Debugger)
Hi David, thank you so much for the new version. This is really great! I uninstalled Edge Runtime and AppBuilder completely on my Win10 Laptop and installed 2021.14. The Debugger runs without problems. Still the scrollbar of the program is missing - but with the new zoom feature I can see everything. Also thank you for the workaround with the Text Input tool, I appreciate this very much!! kind regards Peter

Peter Groll (In thread: Problems with new Debugger)

Hi David,

If I use the new Debugger from the 2021.xx Versions the upper 10-20 % of my Apps from the 2020.xx Version are not visible. Two solve the problem her my two question:

Is it possible to have two AppBuilder Installations on one Computer??

Is there a zoom function in the new Debugger??

A different problem appears with the text input field. In the Chrome based Browsers like Chrome or Opera I have to klick on the right side of the field to input text. If I click on the left side then a window for input of a filename for an image opens. This does not happen in the Firefox.

kind regards

Peter

Peter Groll (In thread: IDE Fontsize, IDE Iconsize and Themes)
Hello David,

the new dark theme in 2020.79 is really great! Do you think it is possible to include (in the future) an option for larger IDE fonts and IDE icons? Maybe one set normal like now and one set large with a fixed scaling like1.5. On my screen the icons and IDE fonts are really small, especially with the beautiful dark theme.

kind regards

Peter

Peter Groll (In thread: Bootstrap Grid Container and AppBuilder Container)
Hi,

I have a question regarding the general layout of the page: I would like to use the bootstrap grid system and place within each column ( for example .col-sm-) one container, which holds other elements. This would result in a kind of "bootstrap" wrapping of the page (the container and the column minimum size should match of course).

On the other side I would like to keep the visual design of AppBuilder, so that you can see, which element is on which place, - that is why I do not like to use the "HTML" tool for this.

Is there a way to put a container ( and buttons labels etc.. within the container) in such a bootstrap column, maybe by a css class ???

thanks for help, Peter

Peter Groll (In thread: Cordova & Electron App Installation on Win10)
Hi David,

Regarding my electron questions, the installation location is not so critical because you can use the x86 or x64 version and copy them to the needed destination. I used the release bat, but the complete chromium framework has to be installed, so it takes allways nearly 400mB - but it works pretty well!! One wish on my list: if it would be possible to compile only x86 or x64 or the installer, this would save a lot of space on the HD. You can modify the config files with an editor, but it would be great to have an option in AppBuilder (like for the electron json)...

The last question was about Win Cordova, not Electron - but you are right this makes no sense because Electron runs smooth and is easy to compile. I tried Cordova for Android and, if everything is well installed, it runs fine. By the way, what happened to the Calculator Program, you used in the video - it is no more in the samples, I like it very much!!

Peter Groll (In thread: IFrame and Bootstrap question)
Hi David,

thanks for the reply. Regarding the accept "image/*" option for loading an image file, I have replaced this option with ".jpg,.png" and this works fine on Android!

Peter Groll (In thread: Cordova & Electron App Installation on Win10)
Hi David,

I made a small testapp to play with Cordova and Electron. For Electron I have the question, if it is possible to install the app on another location than AppData/local etc.. for example on Harddisk d: (if I am logged in as admin) ?

And the second question regarding Electron: is it possible to reduce the size of the app, which is quite large (400MB) ?

With Cordova I have the problem, that I have not installed Visual Studio 2019 but the Win 10 SDK, which is located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\". How do I get Cordova to look in this location?

All the best,

Peter

Peter Groll (In thread: IFrame and Bootstrap question)
Hello David,

I found the solution. In the shared.css you have to replace .app-view { position: absolute ..} with .app-view { position: relative ..} and add "overflow-y: auto" after "overflow-x: auto". Then the app behaves exactly as I want. This is independent of scaled or not scaled. Best way to do this seems to overwrite the standard setting in the custom style css.

If you are not to busy or have a quick solution, please, I have another question. When I use the file tool to open an image (with image/* accept) on smartphones is allways the camera selected, not the file browser. Is there a way to change this?

kind regards,

Peter

Hello David,

shure, take your time. If there is no such scroll solution, I have to find another way .....

take care,

Peter Groll (In thread: IFrame and Bootstrap question)
Hello David,

no, that is not what I want. I do not want Autoscale and I would prefer to use larger sizes than the normal browser has and let the user scroll down. This is no problem with eg. a bootstrap site. I do not understand, why the browser can not show the upper part of the AppBuilder site. If you scale down the page you can reach the the whole site, but not at 100% or more. Is it possible, that I have to set a special "scrollable" attribute for the whole site??

kind regards,

Peter

Peter Groll (In thread: IFrame and Bootstrap question)
Hello David, yes, I see your point, I tried to modify the view1.html and frame the containers in a row and "col-md-4" columns. This works in principle, but bootstrap does not know how to handle the container, so it is of no use.

The reason, why I like to use the bootstrap grid is that my app uses a lot of buttons, slider and labels, which should be placed in a special order together. When you use a smartphone in portrait mode with bootstrap grid, you can define how this happens and scroll down to see the other buttons etc. On the other hand with AppBuilder it is very easy to place my buttons labels and images on different places for a smartphone portrait version. Unfortunately this produces another problem:

When I change the apps size to be larger than the browser (eg. to 320 x 960 px for my portrait version) then you can scroll down the app but the upper 10%-15% is unreachable, you can not see it and you can not scroll up to it. Do you have an idea, how to change this?

Peter Groll (In thread: IFrame and Bootstrap question)
Hello David, thanks for your reply. But if I place my elements inside the HTML control I loose the visual design advantage of AppBuilder. So my idea was to use containers and frame them with HTML control, but this does not work. Here is my example:

So I would like to have the containers as Bootstrap row elements, but maybe there is another way to do this? Do you have an idea?

kind regards Peter

Peter Groll (In thread: IFrame and Bootstrap question)
Hello David, first of all, I hope you are well and healthy in this times!

a) I noticed a little problem with the IFrame url. If I change the url and rebuild the app the old url stays. When I close the app and open it again then in most cases the new url is taken.

b) Is it possible to use the Bootstrap grid system in AppBuilder, and how to to this? (What I mean is that in Bootstrap the elements may be placed in a grid, and if the screen is big enough all elements are side by side in a row, if the screen is small (smartphone) the elements are placed among each other and you can scroll down.

kind regards, Peter
