DecSoft (In thread: How to record audio from the device's microphone)

Hello Joshua,

Glad to know you got it! But please, don't hesitate to post here if you need any further help. Certainly, if what we wanted is an image, probably we no need the Media Capture plugin, but the Camera plugin, which is included "out-of-the-box" in App Builder.

On the other hand, maybe an "Input File" controls is enough if what we wanted is a picture from the device. In this last case our application can work perfectly out of the Apache Cordova platform. Various "Camera*" and "ImagePick*" samples exists.

The problem with capturing video or audio is the way in which we must deal with the device's files. This implied not only the usage of the Media Capture plugin, but probably we need to deal also with the Cordova's Files and FileTransfer plugins.

In fact it's possible to do that, even when this plugins are not included "out-of-the-box" in App Builder, because we can always uses non included plugins and pure Javascript code in our applications.

So please Joshua, don't hesitate to post here if you need any further help.

Hello Joshua,

What about "captureSuccess" and "captureError"? This must be functions callbacks that must exists. If they are application's functions then we must refer to it with something like this:

However, if you want to use the "captureImage" method... why not directly uses the Apache Cordova's Camera plugin, which is "out-of-the-box" in App Builder? You can take a look at the included "Camera*" samples.

DecSoft (In thread: Set the [App.TextDirection] & [App.LanguageCode] variables in runtime)

Hello Yossi,

It did help, thanks.
So to understand, what does the Text Direction, under the App Option, do? If I can set the attribute I want per element, why is there a "global setting"?
Thanks
Yossi

Because that option determine the "dir" attribute of the application's main HTML tag, which is the way to indicate the text direction for all the application's views & controls.

DecSoft (In thread: Set the [App.TextDirection] & [App.LanguageCode] variables in runtime)

Hello yosik,

Hi,
Yes, I see that, thanks.
And I also see that this RTL or LTR setup is project wide, which means that if I have some elements I need to be RTL and others which I want LTR, I cannot have it both ways...
Is there a way to setup the bidi parameter? and/or add a per element rule (RTL or LTR)?
Thanks
Yossi

Honestly I am not experience in RTL languages. Right now the language direction is established using the appropiate "dir" attribute for the HTML tag of the applications. Maybe it's the common way, that is, normally we no need to mis RTL and LTR, but I can be wrong.

Anyway, when we talk about App Builder's controls, we talk about HTML controls, then, if a control accept the "dir" attribute, there is no problem to set it in the proper way. For example, the below code set the "dir" attribute for an "Input1" control:

I don't know if this can help you in something but I hope so.

DecSoft (In thread: Set the [App.TextDirection] & [App.LanguageCode] variables in runtime)

Hello yosik,

Yes; apparently the RTL changes doesn't affect to the Push butons (and other similar controls) because their text is centered in the control. If you place an Input control, for example, below the button, you can see how the RTL made the expected text direction changes. I am not sure if we can go ahead in the buttons case, since, as I say, their text appear centered in the control, no matter if the text direction is LTR (Left To Right) or RTL (Right to Left).

DecSoft (In thread: How do i open a veiw using any of the glyph icons in HTML Content)

Hello Tonym,

You must use the Html Content control's Click event and identify the icon with their ID, for example. Take a look at the "HtmlContent" and the "Footer" application samples.

DecSoft (In thread: Incorporates the Google's Material Design icons in our applications)

Hello tin,

Just let me know if you need any further help with this. :)

DecSoft (In thread: Incorporates the Google's Material Design icons in our applications)

Hello tin,

You know currently AB incorporates for our applications both font icons packs: Glyphicons and FontAwesome. If we add the Material Design icons pack then the app's size are increased around 600 Kb. Honestly I am not sure if proceed with that, because, in fact, we can use now the Material Design icons if we wanted in various ways, like the icons website explain. We can add the font icons files or we can use it from the web (from a Google server).

Do you want the icons are included "out-of-the-box"? Or do you wanted some help about how to integrate the icons in your specific app?

DecSoft (In thread: Custom app icons and splash screens not working in cordova-android v6)

Hello to all,

Another possible solution is to "downgrade" Apache Cordova. We can open a console (as admin) and type this:

Once the uninstallation end we can then type this:

The 6.3.1 version of Apache Cordova doesn't have the introduced bug with the app's icons.

DecSoft (In thread: Some errors when I try to build my application using Apache Cordova)

Hello Tonym,

Can you build your app? Then everything is in order. :)

DecSoft (In thread: Some errors when I try to build my application using Apache Cordova)

Hello Tonym,

I think the error message is more or less clear: your Android SDK installation is not the correct one. Be sure your Android SDK is right by using the Android SDK manager. Press WIN + R and then type "android". Take a look at this step by step tutorial, follow the instructions and finally try again.

DecSoft (In thread: Can we use application's variables inside the Menu control's items?)

Hello,

Works as well.

Well, yes. In fact the double quotes escapes are automatically does by the action's editor. If you use single quotes there is OK too.
