Samuel Vanneste (In thread: Converting old AB over to new AB)
Hello David

The original poster was Peter (hence your previous reply above) ;-).

I am happy for you that you are happy with the new version. As I previously told you, I am sure you are on the right way because it is already more powerful, for sure. But please, advocate at DecSoft not to let the development where it is right now. Because I (perhaps we) miss a lot of the easyness of the previous version (ie: no more sensors, no more barcode, no more useful variables, out of the box without scouting the web for a possible plugin or sample of code, etc etc).

I am sure the staff at DecSoft was very pleased with the "new resources manager" but did the devs understood what made the real interest of the original version and the difference with any other JavaScript IDEs ? Or perhaps, you needed it urgently, reason why you were served at first ? ;-)

You can delete the post if the boss at DecSoft is unhappy, we can speak about if DecSoft needs real feedbacks. I wanted not to be rude. Sorry. Peace. <3

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: App.Online ni the new AB)
Hello Peter

According to W3C it should be You get a boolean.
And you are far from being a pest, I am as lost as you are with that new AB :)

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: New AB : interface layout ?)
Hello David,

Please, is it already possible to edit and save the interface layout like with the previous AB ? Or perhaps should I exclude some files from my backup software to be able to save it ?

Many thanks

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: Visual actions vs pure Javascript)

Hello David,
I do confirm that it is working. That new release fixes the blurriness. The appearance is the same as the old AB version.
Many thanks for the quick fix

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: Visual actions vs pure Javascript)

Hello David,
Thanks a lot for your replies. I have sent you an email with the screenshots and the configuration I use. I am going to try the new AB more as it is the future of our favourite IDE :)

Edit: Thanks for including the frames. That's very nice of DecSoft

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: Visual actions vs pure Javascript)

Edit about blurriness:
right-click the application’s shortcut and then click Properties. On the Compatibility tab, select Disable Display Scaling On High DPI Settings, and then click OK.

Fixed :)

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: Visual actions vs pure Javascript)

Hello David,
I don't know if you are looking here for some feedback about the next version. The main trouble I have experienced with the next version is a blurry screen of all the interface. If you want some screenshot I can do.
The screen is blurred and it seems not to be related to the font's size.

Some remark too :
It seems AB will become a JavaScript editor loosing its language. I think to have understood it like that. If it is really the case, DecSoft could probably reach new customers but it could be a bit sad because the previous one was very easy for beginners. From what I saw with the alpha version, there is no option to insert some good old AB language in the code. Am I right about ?

Good luck David

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: Seek opinion on a networking problem)

Hello Amin,
Here are my 2cts. If by "shared server" you mean a VPS, it depends on the technical specifications of the server itself and the bandwidth provided.
Technically there is no reason not to be able to handle 100 concurrent connections using a Linux VPS with 4 GB of RAM, 4 GB of SWAP and 100 Mbps connection if dedicated to the app itself.

After that aspect, it depends on the amount of data to manage and of course any other operation you have to do on them. That aspect is related on your experience only.

About the solution, there is something you did not mention, it is MQTT (https://mqtt.org/) and by experience I would use it to send the data between the players and use a socket or pusher to inform the other parts in real time (disconnection, new movement, etc.) because that protocol has a multi subscribers possibility.

I hope it can help a bit. Good luck

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: NavBar with Logo and Gradient Colours)

Hello John,
Take a look at the Navbar.Image value. You will be able to change the image programatically after having checked if the the menu has some content.

About the Navbar's position, it is the .Placement value (take a look at the Navbar example or the Help file.

Good luck :)

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: Populate typeahead control from httpclient)
Hello Peter, YES it is : David kindly improved App Builder to let you select after how many typed characters your TypeaHead control will react :)

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: [Solved] Saving and reloading an Array of Objects)

Hello,
Me again to quickly report a fix based on David's provided solution :
just remember the capital K letter in $$hashKey (I did not noticed it on my HD+ laptop's screen) and feed the Object's related prop with a TimeStamp or any UID you can generate.

As David said, once that value is 100% unique, all is fine. Thanks again David for the quick fix.

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: [Solved] Saving and reloading an Array of Objects)

Hello David,
Thank you very much for your confirmation and having pointed me to the TodoApp example. I had missed the JavaScript code. Thanks for having studied and solved the case previously.

May I ask you, when you'll have some time and only for curiosity, the reason why we get that $$hashkey prop inserted ? If we reproduce the simple code like that one below, we don't see it.
Generates (without the reference to the object)

As a suggestion (not to have to deal with JavaScript), perhaps in the far future, could we have a new App Builder's function where we provide an Object input (like CopyVar) and can do actions on its Props (deleting, adding) and get another Object output ? (proposing that without knowing if it is feasible and how much time consuming it could be).

Again, David, thank you very much for the solution and confirmation you provided.

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: Populate typeahead control from httpclient)

Hello,

The Typeahead control's items are stored in an array. From the HttpClient's success event, you could do something like:

As you can see, your JSON response is an Array containing Objects each one with a Prop named "Name". We have to parse them.

Samuel Vanneste (In thread: [Solved] Saving and reloading an Array of Objects)

Hello,
I have noticed some crashes with one of my apps. Probably I am doing something wrong but I noticed that a JSON file generated by serializing an Array of Objects was sometimes not usable to feed a Report.

If I am not wrong, it seems that the key "$$hashKey" is the reason when the object's number is duplicated.
For example :

The related project is attached. Am I true about the reason ? Do I have any solution to avoid the duplication about the object's prop ? Many thanks

Hello David, Thanks a lot, you were right. It worked as you said. About the plugins, I must admit I don't use the other product anymore.
