Feature request : fixing the layout

Samuel Vanneste
Hello David,

I would appreciate if you could definitively fix the position of the right side panels (properties, styles, views, controls, dialogs, frames) or if you could let us make them reduced by editing a configuration file. Because on smaller screens than yours, each time we open or create a project, those panels take about half of the screen and it is a repeatedly process to reduce them before starting working.

I usually put put them one on the other so each panel becomes a tab.

Thanks

Hello Samuel,

As I told you via E-Mail, I made several attempts already to allows to save the app layout as we wanted. Unfortunately, I can't get it working. This means I abandond the idea? Not at all. It's just that the time is limited... I am sure that finally get can get something like that working, however, I can't promise you a date, because it's not only a question of time (even when it's important), but, work in the possible implementation.

Said that, your screen do not appear too small, as I can view in the first image. You can see the app's view designer, which is the important, and, additionally, you can see everything (all the dock panels) and ready to be used. Anyway, Samuel, I understand your point and will work in that when possible (I hope at that time I have more lucky than in my previous attempts).

Thanks David. Or perhaps could you make them unpinned by default ?
Good luck

Hello Samuel,

The point is that if we do that maybe other people can complain about, because they are happy to view all the panels by default. :-) My own screen, for example, is not very larger (these days) and I have enough (too much in fact) space in order to see all the dock panels. But you are right: the solution is to made customizable the app's dock panels. Not an easy thing (to me), apparently... but I did not abandond the idea.

Hello Samuel,

Good news! I don't know the number of attempts that I made to save and retrieve the app's dock panels layout... but today I back into this and finally I think we can get something working as expected. So, be ready for the next DecSoft App Builder release, because you can then get the app's dock panels exactly than you wanted. :-)

David, how we can change AB to use the dark/light themes?

Samuel Vanneste

Hello to all,

You're welcome, Samuel! Jordi, we are talking about the current generation of DecSoft App Builder: the previous generation do not have something like that, and, probably can't do it: we try with themes in the past and finally remove it due to their problematic behaviour. The new DecSoft App Builder has been rewriten from the scratch (using a new version of Delphi) and allows us to have something like that "dark theme" available.
